About
This site is intended to serve as an online repository of articles and primary sources related to Lutheran history in North America. Despite the URL, the focus won’t solely be on LCMS history, though LCMS history will probably predominate.
It is likely that some articles and almost all pages will be added to over time. In order to prevent link rot and make the site more user-friendly, URL slugs will try to be as concise and intuitive as possible (e.g., /wyneken, not /2026-09-07-f-c-d-wyneken). I will generally attempt to create Archive.org or local backups of all external links, though I cannot promise to follow through with complete consistency.
Although this site is mostly a labor of love, I will likely add a donate link at some point, on the off chance that any readers find the site valuable enough to want to help offset hosting costs. I also intend to reprint worthwhile articles that are no longer available online. I assume most of these are orphaned works, but if you hold the copyright on any of these articles and would like me to take them down, please simply contact me.
History is messy
Trigger warnings are popular in some circles, used to warn readers or listeners that they may encounter content that could upset or discomfit them. Consider this a general trigger warning that this entire site may contain such content—only in this case, the triggers may be equally upsetting to those on the political or theological right as they are to those on the political or theological left.
